OK, I think I have a consenus, and will track down a rim over the next few days, then check out whether I will stick with the same type I have now for a (near-) future purchase, or go with something else. Thanks for the input.
The good news is that I don't have a long distance trip planned till DSCF (assuming I take a tractor), and there is always Christmas and I have 3 sisters!!!!!
