Central Indiana Cubfest

Postby Bigdog » Sat Sep 22, 2012 7:24 pm

Central indiana CubFest is in the books! Great crowd and another outstanding CubFest hosting job done by Bud and Steve.
Cut some soybeans using Bud's cub engine powered 52R combine on Friday along with some great plowing on both days even with the rain Friday night.
Will have some videos and pictures up as soon as I can get them uploaded.

Candy and I had a great time on Friday. Was cool to see the 52R in the bean field. Brought back memories of years ago. Drug the rain with us all the home to Ohio. Thanks to Bud, Joyce and Steve!

Rosie and I just got home. Gary and Regina shouldn't be to far from home either. We all stayed back and extra day to help Bud and Steve put the farm back in order. All that's left is for Bud and Neil to put their toys away until next year.

We had a great time as usual and never let the weather dampen our spirits. Thanks to all who put on this great event. I have a lot of video of the 52R working the bean field. What a truely amazing piece of machinery that is. I hope to edit the video after I get my eyes straight. That should be sometime around this weeekend. Stay tuned for that.

My thanks also to Steve and Bud and their families for a great Cubfest. Watching the combine was great and Gary let me plow with George Willer's "Scotty" that was set up so well that nary a clod rolled into the bottom of the furrow. Steve suggested I stop at the Indy Motor Speedway on my way to the airport, and the museum and bus tour around the track were great.

Thanks again, Bob

The 52R combine brings back some memories. I was too young to operate it and dad had a bin rather than bagger and it must have been an early model because it had a continental engine. I never thought of one being pulled by a cub maybe because it was also built as a pto machine. Close by but I had another commitment. Vern

Thanks to everyone that attended It was truly a pleasure to have the opportunity to co host this event with Bud , Joyce and Neil. Special thanks to all the Women behind the scenes that kept us fed. I can't forget to Thank Gary, Regina,Barnyard and Rosie for all your help. David Grapes for your donation of the bread and Cookies. And Silvey for his support.

For anyone that didn't get to attend the plowing was the best it has been in Years the ground turned over beautifully. Seeing the 52 Combine running in the field combining the beans was quite a site. A Cub Fest First :{_}:

Bob, I'm glad you had a good time at the Speedway it is truly a site to see when you visit Indianapolis

Bud assures us god willing plan on the third Friday and Saturday of September next year

Regina & I had a great time, like we always do! A big thanks to Steve, Bud & Joyce, Neil and all the ladies who fed us. Thanks to Dave Grapes & Kroger Co. for their food donation. We were a little thin on the shop projects this year but made up for it in field activities. Combining beans was a big highlite, but a lot of ground was plowed as well. We can't wait for next year!
