Late tomatos

Postby v w » Wed Sep 19, 2012 7:04 pm

We normally have the biggest pickings the last three weeks in August but this year we and most everyone else didn't get many. Well they have finally started to ripen in large amounts even though the weather has cooled and especially the nights.

These are from 25 plants. We're done with juice, pizza sauce and salsa so Jeanne is giving these to a neighbor. Vern

Believe it or not I do not like to see nasty slimy tomato pulp in anything and that includes chili. We use tomato juice for all tomato recipies. For salsa the tomatoes are run thru the food processer so pieces are not large. Try juice in chili sometime and see what you think. Vern

I will give it a try, but I do like whole tomatoes in my veggie soup and chilly
