240 IH Starter BENDIX....is the same as....?
Starter BENDIX on my 240 Farmall with the 123 engine will interchange with what other IH's.
IHC made a quality machine and was leader of the pack.Let's keep them running,

I ended up getting the starter rebuilt for the 240. I got ripped off when the price went up to $267.
New bearings, solenoid and changing the fields around is what the guy claimed to have done. Tractor had an alternator and resistor on it but they just used the 6 volt starter for the incomplete conversion. I guess IH starters turn fast and there is not a lot you can do about it.
To avoid this situation make sure the guy calls you back on what is wrong before you let him go ahead.
