45 H brakes

Postby 1farmall95cub0 » Wed Aug 15, 2012 7:20 pm

i bought my H about 4 months ago at a local tractor auction, started up and ran amazing, im the second owner, drove it about 12 miles home with no issues at all, then drove it out 2 the family farm where i could use it more than on our acer property! (thats the Cubs ground!) and about a month ago i noticed that when i push the brake pedal in there is a kinda like a grinding sound and the brake pedal jerks around a bit, any ideas on what it could be? thanks! kile

Worst case a broken brake band. Next just a worn out band. Best scenario, and a good chance, just a good cleaning. I've seen mud dobbers get in there never figured out how.

Only place for the mud daubers to get in is if the brake pre-adjustment set screw in the bottom of the brake cover has fallen out.
