What does this Fit?

Postby AL Farmall Boy » Mon Aug 27, 2012 11:07 am

On Saturday, we had the pleasure of purchasing a 1975 IH Cub from a gentleman in Robertsdale, Alabama (Mobile Area) that his father (an IH Dealership Manager) had owned. He had soooo much stuff that was IH and we bought most of it, although there was so much in a cluttered, dark, and dirty barn that I left a good bit. One part was this peice, and I am having a hard time identifying it. Please help me if you can.

THANKS GUYS!

If you can't tell from the picture.....the small angled hole is threaded. The only threaded hole. Looks as if it was for a grease fitting.

You didn't ask what it did the first time around :). I thought once you knew what it fit, you would pull up the CaseIH web site and stick the part number into the Farmall M parts catalog to look at the diagram. It is the steering shaft support at the middle universal joint.

Sorry about that Jim, we bought 4 tractors this weekend (3 at one place and 1 Cub at another), so I was busy playing with them and tinkering to see if I could get them running. I took the day off to play around and put everything away before the rain comes. I actually got the LoBoy 154 running and the 1975 Cub running with very little work. The Cub only needed some gas and a battery! :D And the LoBoy required a filing of the points, new condensor, and a rebuilt carb. to get it going. So....I've had a pretty good and productive day! More about the part......

That is a neat find and a nice looking part at that. Thanks for looking it up for me. I just figured you guys would recognize it, and thought it might be a Cub part....even though I hadn't seen one before. Well.....if anyone ever needs one of these, I've got one for the taking. haha. Thanks again, Jim!
