Clutch
I can't seem to get my clutch adjusted. When I press the pedal it bogs down the engine. I have adjusted it to the book with 1 inch of pedal travel at the top of the pedal. Does anyone have any ideas?

In what condition is the throw-out bearing

Re: Clutch
It's brand new with a new carrier from Steiner. I also replaced the pilot bushing and had the flywheel turned

Re: Clutch
Tractor runs great till you press the clutch. When you press it in the engine bogs and will even die.

Re: Clutch
When you had the tractor apart, did you have the clutch shaft out Or, did you just split the tractor at the clutch housing and engine

Re: Clutch
When I split it I never messed withe shaft besides cleaning it up and putting some fresh grease on it. When I first got it started I was able to shift in to gear with barely any or no grind at all. But it bogged the engine down slightly. I adjusted the clutch a bit cause of the bogging and it was slightly burning of the clutch. I have not gotten it adjusted that we'll since then. I have tried to adjust it quite a few times since then.

Re: Clutch
You have not commented on the pressure plate assembly and clutch disc. Were they in good condition

Re: Clutch
Just thinking. Throw out bearing installed backwards? ??But that should squeal like a banshee when you depressed the clutch pedal.
Tractor in neutral. Engine easily starts. Depress the clutch pedal and engine bogs down. Previously same circumstances - also transmission could be shifted with no or very little gear grinding.
If pressure plate was not releasing the disk - wouldn't be able to shift gears.
Either engine is very weak or throwout bearing.

I have an excuse. CRS.

Re: Clutch
Is the clutch a Rockford or Auburn? Might be a case of mix and match parts.
