Hi everyone from OH. I just found this site and thought I'd give it a try, though I don't know what I'm doing, having little experience. I recently got the Farmall 140 in IN. The sn is 16297 J . I think its a 1961. I got it running a day or 2 ago. Could anyone tell me if this tractor is the same as a IH Cub ? I live near Vandalia, OH, near Dayton.
Thanks for your help.

Nope a Cub and a 140 are two completely different tractors. First the Cub is the smallest of the Letter Series tractors and there really wasn't a successor to the Cub. The IH 140 is essentially a Numbered Series upgraded tractor that would be related to the Letter Series SuperC (ooops A).

Re: Farmall 140
Hey Plow, I'm just up the road between Sidney and Piqua. The 140 is a very nice size tractor. It's lineage started with the Farmall A then progressed to the Super A, the 100, the 130 and then the 140. It's equivalent to a Cub on steroids.
