EZ wrote:twotone, That is a beauty tractor. It is the Uncle of my 130. I have a couple 12vdc starter/generators for 10hp Briggs engines. I suppose if the pulley can be fit to the shaft it might work, although maybe not enough rpms.
By no means, would I try to convert that tractor. With mostly original paint, no heavy field work in its history (plus being able to trace its history back to when it was new,) and a late serial number, it could very well be one of the most, if not the most, pristine original condition Super A's out there. It should be noted also that the remote hydraulics, while a nice feature and nicely done, are not original IH. Al
"12 volt conversions are for quitters"
IH's are RED. Just say NO to yellow and white!
Let us pray for farmers and all who prepare the soil for planting, that the seeds they sow may lead to a bountiful harvest.

I don't know about the first part, being the most original would be nice though. And you're right about the remote hydraulics. Nice thing is I can have that off in 10 minutes and no one would ever know. I used all existing bolt holes. I wish I had the original turf tires, but that was the only thing the guy wanted.
Thanks for the good words Al, that is quite a complement. And to think I was going to trade it off. I wanted his Cub and $2000.00, which I thought was fair. I think it's off the auction block now.

Thats a beautiful Super A! I've always wanted one, and had one for a while, but it had to move on after I discovered that it had been rolled over. I'll bet that thing could pull a house over with the big tires and all the weights on it. It would be fun to push some snow with that, and I would definitely have to fab up the hydraulic angling kit since the remote hydaulics are already there. Very nice work!

I'm sure it will EZ. It just takes time and money. These forums help me keep my enthusiasm (sp) up so I don't push things in the corner. Some of the tractors are a little intimidating, but just do your best and it will turn out great. And Hengy, It's off the block. I sold my JD 425 yesterday, so the tractor account just went way up.
