Adding on, finally.

After several years of not having enough room in the barn I am starting the addition. It is 11' 6" wide by 32' long. After doing some leveling I may close in the far end but for now it is a drive through.

The barn is 30' by 32' so this will help storage problems and have more room for projects. I can build off the other side if more tractors decide to take up residence. I am a long way from being a carpenter but I figured the barn tin would hide any miss measurements.

Got the addition framed in last weekend. I've either been to busy at work or it has been to hot to work on it but I am making progress. Hope to have the roof on this weekend.

Got the roof on and screwed down before it got to hot today. It is 105 again today. Will be next weekend before the side goes on. Someone (me with CRS) forgot to order the bottom trim for the side wall when I ordered the rest of the tin. I will not get it till next friday. Now I can work on the storm shelter my wife wants.

Looking good so far. Going to be a very nice addition. As far as forgetting ... that goes with the territory... sorta creeps up on you. Oh yeah, your grandkids will love the pics of grampy someday I know I sure wish I pics of my grandfathers... only have 1 or 2 of my mom's dad and 1 of my dad's father ... very short supply.

Bottom trim did not come in when the lumber yard said it would. I improvised and put up the side tin. The trim is suppose to be here monday afternoon. Another 100 plus degree today so I started before 6:00 a.m. and will go out again late if it cools off enough. If not, it will be another early morning.

All that is left is back filling on the low end and adding a light or two. I figured I could put 5 cubs under there before I have to build on the other side. The better half was not to fond of that idea though. I don't need 5 cubs but I did not need the John Deere either. Maybe I'll look for a "H" or and old Case to work on after the JD is done.

Hmmmm....average Cub is 4-1/2ft wide by 8ft long...sounds like 2 abreast and 4 deep gets ya 8 Cubs in there...at least 7 for sure.

This comes from someone who has packed them in even tighter than that.
(I'm sure Barnyard will be along shortly to share with us how he parks 127 Cubs in one Big Ole Barn.)

I don't farm and only own 7 acres but do have a garden and do alot of mowing. The John Deere will be for tractor shows and parades. It won't have the chance to break down to often.
