Little Cubs Cost as much as Big Cubs !

Postby Rudi » Sun May 20, 2012 5:21 pm

I am always watching for the 1/16" miniature Cubs that have been around almost as long as our real sized Cubs. There are some really outstanding kits that come up on :eBay: from time to time. It is one of my best resources for finding info on these interesting little Cubs. Been watching this one ... and yeah there is a reserve but I have no clue what it is, but I have a sneaky idea that the reserve is somewhere between $1,500.00 to $2,000.00

Rudi, Are you interested only in older toy tractors or any 1:16 cub? SPEC-CAST has one circa 1950 w/planter& fertilizer attachment. $62.90 US. It is available from 3000toys.com. I look ocassionally for 1:64 models of tractors I have driven but that is not a very popular size. This matches my toy train. I do not have a model railroad, I admit it - it is a toy train. Vern

For some reason, these "model kits" are highly sought after and command big bucks.

Vern:

My interest in these miniatures is primarily from a historical perspective. The chances that I will ever be able to afford a Sanders or a Reuhl or a Design Fabricators is somewhere around the possibility of owning a Gilson Reicke Cub ... slim to non-existent  I think that I have all of the Ertl Cubs and I think I have an accurate account of all the Ertl in order but I am going to have to confirm that hopefully with the Ertl catalogs if I can lay my hands on a copy. I am working on the Spec Cast, I only have a few as they are very expensive.

I do want to get as much documentation on the different miniatures .. and yes I know that there are 1/32 and 1/64 versions as well. I will probably get around to them at some point.
