Harley----hood's off for tweeking

Postby Rick Prentice » Sun Mar 11, 2012 7:31 pm

I decided to bring Harley around into the barn and do some carb tweeking. Once Harley was finished and all buttoned up, the hood was never removed other than today. When I decided to park him, I drained all the fuel from the tank and harley davidson panhead carb. Everything still looked pretty clean even though it hasn't run in a few years. If I can find out how to do a video tomorrow, you'll hear it run after the carb gets tweeked. Here's some pics of the setup. You'll notice the homemade aluminum intake.

Rick,

It’s good to see Harley getting some attention, I would love to see more about it, and I will have to surf for some old threads.

It truly amazes me to see some of the talent some folks have on this forum; from knowing Cub’s inside and out to help so many people trouble shoot problems from a computer, to the extreme projects like this that I see shared here.

My Farmall hat is off to you!
David

We all know what happens when the hood comes off.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Well, I adjusted the carb and took a video with my cell phone and watched the video several times. I then put the hood back on and buttoned everything back together. I just found my video card that plugs into my phone and transferred the video onto the memory card, but installing it into the adapter card and then into the desktop, only the picture plays(no sound) so I have to figure a different way around this issue  if there is one.

In the first video I caught myself holding my thumb over the mic hole in the Galaxy Tab, that's why the exhaust quiets down while I was walking around the left side  What can I say, I'm a youtube rookie

Practice makes perfect Rick. Old Harley sounds and looks great.

I think Harley deserves to be in every tractor parade for 100 miles around. Pop a few wheelies and the crowd will love it. :D
