Slow Progress
Well, I'm out here every day and sometimes it feels like I'm spinning my wheels. My Son is coming over today and we're taking the frame and front axle to where he works to sand blast it. That pile of primed parts have all been sand blasted and need painting. I'm waiting for a nice day (Maybe in May?) to go on a painting marathon. I'm done with the greasy cleaning and starting to assemble some small pieces, getting to the part I love to do. I love having clean hands at the end of the day. I'll keep up with the updates as things progress.

Re: Slow Progress
Looking real good! Could you do me a favor and measure the loop on the front axle? I need the center of axle to center of loop measurement to make a bracket for the 222 mower.
Looking forward to more pics!

Re: Slow Progress
Fixing them right is the way to go the'll last for ever if we do it right now upfront.
I feel the sameway with all my tractors too. When i was rebuilding machine tools we would take each sub unit off the shelf and rebuild it and put it back on the shelf ready to be assembled. When all the sub assemblies were ready to go we would build it. I'm going to do the samething with the tractors too and like you i'll clean and prime and put one coat of finish paint on each part. After its all assembled i'll do a finish paint job on all of it.
I have just a few weeks before the threat of snow is gone then my first job is to install a new clutch assembly/flywheel/driveshaft/throwout brg in my #3 int154. I need to do a little welding on the front axle pivot to repair it then bondo the front grill and she is ready for new paint. After a complete inspection of the tractor for other problems. After a good pressure washing sometimes other problems show up that were hidden by the dirt.
I plan on doing all the cub size tractors this spring and my cub cadets in the summer. Once i get everything up and restored and running ok i can purchase my farmall super A next.

I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Raymond, my frame and front axle are still at the sandblaster, but I'll get those measurements ASAP.

Re: Slow Progress
Things are moving along nicely now. I've finally gotten to the part where a good painting matters, but this is what I have so far.
I have the backside of everything painted yellow that is supposed to be yellow. I think only 4 things are white!
Raymond, do you still need that measurement?

Re: Slow Progress
Raymond, the measurement looks like 2 1/8 inches by tape measure. I've been using CIH Federal Yellow. $20.00 a quart is pretty cheap but it mixes 8 parts paint to 1 part reducer so it goes fast. I've used 3 quarts so far, so 1 quart of yellow to go. 1 quart will be more than enough to do the white. I'll use hardner for the rest of the stuff.

Re: Slow Progress
Thanks Tom! Is the loop centered on the axle or set off to one side? Did you order the paint online or do you have a place that you can pick up locally?

Re: Slow Progress
It's about a quarter inch toward the rear. The center of the loop measures 1 1/2 inches from the rear of the axle. (unless I have the front and rear messed up, it's upside down now with wet paint).
Both the Case stores I've been to have stocked the paint.

Things are moving right along now. I'm waiting for rings and rod bearings and then I can finish the engine. Not much more I can do until the engine is in. This yellow kind of grows on me. My next Cub I am going to get a yellow one, unless a good deal
comes along on a red one.

Thanks Bill E Bob. It's starting to look better every day now. I also found out this is the ultra rare International Lo Boy Circle 154, Probably the only one in existence.

Re: Slow Progress
A rare one indeed My '64 offset LoBoy should be rarer or at least as rare when complete.
