Re: Ready for CUB TUG
By all means put the blocks under the back of the trailer. I busted a spring shackle doing just that. Of course the tractor I was loading was a tad heavier then your cub. My new trailer has down riggers on the back to keep that from happening again so I don't have to carry blocks any more. That's one good looking tractor!
Re: Ready for CUB TUG
All things being equal I don't think the duals themselves cost that much power. I have never seen a figure on it in print anywhere, and as common as duals on farm tractors are, I would think it would be talked about more if it was a big issue. IF there is noticable power loss with duals, I expect there are some engine issues he would need to address. If it were me though, I would put all the wheel weights on the inside tires if they would fit.... I would think with 1200 lbs of weight, or close to that, wheel slip will be mighty close to zero. Might well run out of power well before it runs out of traction, but it should definately put on a good show! Al "12 volt conversions are for quitters"
IH's are RED. Just say NO to yellow and white! Let us pray for farmers and all who prepare the soil for planting, that the seeds they sow may lead to a bountiful harvest.
Re: Ready for CUB TUGVery nice John, thanks for the info and good luck in the Tug..

From what we could tell, it wasn't the paint that was pullin' that Cub! I don't believe in taking the bull by the horns. I took a goat by the horns once and that was enough excitement for me.

Re: Ready for CUB TUGAnd the "fish story tales" have already started. And think we are only 5 months away from the event.
Re: Ready for CUB TUGNice looking Cub John. Just wondering, is that the Cub the loader is going on?
Harlan
Re: Ready for CUB TUGNope loader going on #4 demo. Freshest one out of the shop. Don't think loader would work with duals and all those weights
