Deep South CubFest is officially in the books! It was another banner year for the Deep South crew! Our thanks go out to Roy and Miss Mary, Billy Ray and Miss Mary Lou, Tim Ezell, General Jim and anyone else who had even a small part in this wonderful event. As always, it was more than worth our trip down her and we had a great time with old and new cub friends.
Gentlemen (and Ladies) our hats are off to you!
Thank you for a wonderful time!

Re: It's in the books!
An absolutely astoundting time. If you weren't here you missed it all. We had rain in the morning Thursday and Friday but clear the rest of the day. Today's weather was calling for heavy storms by noon. It never happened. Beautifull weather was here all weekend (Thank you Billy Ray).
Rosie and I extend our thanks to everyone who had anything to do with our fun filled weekend. We really hate to have to leave. This is just a primer for all the other CubFests to come this year.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Re: It's in the books!
It was FANTASTIC with a Who's Who of Cub experts!! There were so many projects underway that everywhere you looked, you could learn something. I was accused of hogging shop space (right final swap, left final removal for brake cleaning and transmission seal replacement, rear engine seal replacement) but with the availability of all that help, I would do it again in a flash! i wasn't going to waste one moment of the talent in Roy's shop!! Now, If I could just get those same experts to come to NC and help me finish up my other projects...!!!
Thanks to everyone, and especially Roy, et al, for putting on the first (of many, I hope) great Cubfest of 2012!!

Dale, "build it, and they will come"... host a cubfest, and you should have plenty of help. (I promise not to come) Ed

Ed, if I ever hosted one, you could certainly come! After loading my "fresh" cub, it appeared I still have to split again for a FRONT transmission seal replacement!! ...and you were not even HERE this time!!!

I found this old Cub, Forgotten and Forlorn,
With pistons and valves frozen and worn.
Help from my buddies on Farmallcub.com,
And an engine from Ralph, (37’s the one),
Now ole Corky is running and back to life,
Much to the surprise of my dear, dear wife!

Re: It's in the books!
The four boys from TN got home about 1/2 hr ago. Made very good time, even losing 30 min in B'Ham for a wreck way ahead of us to clear. Also, an alert to North bound I-65 travelers. The North lanes of the interstate is completely closed at mile marker 328. About 20-25 miles detour before getting back on I-65, 7 miles North.
However, we had another great time at Roy's. Thanks to all the fine hosts, Roy, Billy Ray, Raymond, Tim and General Jim. Also, we cannot forget the ladies, thanks so much.

Re: It's in the books!
Dad and I made it home about 10pm. Very heavy rain slowed us a bit, but we made it none the less. We had a great time and it was good to see old friends and meet some new ones. Thanks to all for having us and I promise I will bring my Dad again next year.

Re: It's in the books!
A big thanks to the DSCF hosts and crew for allowing us to gather and have another good time visiting and eating good food. We appreciate it very much.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

Thanks to Garmin I found a detour that was only about 1 mile out of the way. We went up along side I-65 most of our detour (good blacktop roads all the way). We seen where the work was being done and it looked like part of the side of the road slid down and they were repairing it.
