The Ruger 10/22 is nice and has been proven. The Thompson is nice and shoots extremely well. Bought a pink camo one for my 6 year old daughter but my 12 year old son would rather shoot it than his 10/22. A lot of companies have started making tactical 22 rifles. I have heard good things about the Mossberg and the price is not bad either. Would be something different.

Gray Cub and I picked one up this week and they are a fine shooting rifle. Snowing and blowing today but my brother took the time to line it in enough to get the first few boxes of shell through. The first 50 rounds and my brother's already grouping quarter size at 50 yards, we'll wait until a warmer day to play some more.
Thanks for the info everyone.

I think my mossberg 702 plinkster with sinthetic black mote carlo stock is a great gun!!! It is short light and easy to handle plus I can shoot a 1 inch group at 75 yards..... It also doesent break the bank I have less than $200 in the scope and rifle and slings. The only down side to it is you have to instal the studs on it for a sling which I watched a 10 minut video on how to do it and it took me half the time to acually put them in...... I think the gun was $139 and the 3x9x32 bushnell scope was $42.99 off of Ebay.... Its a great gun for youth or adult I am 15 almost 16 and love the gun my 6 year old cousin can shoot it easy because of its lite wieght and besause its short. For an auto loader its nice and rarly jambs. The gun does shoot better with plain lead ammo than with copper coated i think the plain lead catches the riflings better. The gun is also availible with a stainless finish but I like the plain old blued my self..... Probly because I hunt with mine....

Mossburg Plinkster, I'll check into that, I like my Mossbergs, there's always room for one more plus that sounds like a really good price.
Thanks !
