I have completed the engine swap on the Farmall M and will post pics soon. What differences are there between the M and Super M ( I know that the bore is bigger) ? The reason I pose the question is that the engine that I installed has an oil filter much larger in diameter than the engine that I removed . This made me wonder if I have a Super engine, I have not checked the casting nos yet. Also where is the best source to check the casting nos ? I would appreciate any info. Thanks, Berlin

Berlin - I believe the shorter oil filter was on the early H's and M's. I'm not sure when the change was made. My 46 H has the short one. The 48 H I used to have had the long one.
