routerI bought a D-Link DIR615 router about a month ago. Problems from the start. I talked to D-Link support on two occasions and they tried to reconfigure the router without success. I finally took the router and i pad to Computer Pros not knowing which one was the problem. The technician looked at the router and said "oh one of those". Long story short the DIR 615 is junk.

Re: routerWe have had our LINKSYS for several years now, with no problems. Probably should get a new one, as it is probably 6 yrs old. And there are faster and better ones out there i am sure. But we will stay with LINKSYS.

Re: routerI looked at one of the DIR-615's to replace my old D-Link D-604 but decided to leave it where it was. One of my big problems was that the antenna a fixed and non-removable. This is not good as I have external antennas for my wireless network. Upgrading to a wireless router is supposed to make WAP's redundant however it looks like the N-Series are pretty much useless for my setup unless I am willing to spend $200.00 or more on a router which I am not. My ISP has a new router/modem for broadband and when my D-604 died I just moved to that one keeping my exisiting WAP. I have/had both Linksys (Cisco) and D-Link routers. I like the D-Links better and I prefer the Linksys for WAP's. I guess it is a matter of picking best-in-class and using those. Unfortunately everything is moving to point and click with very litle options for advanced users.
I may end up reverting to using Linux based routers eventually. Confusion breeds Discussion which breeds Knowledge which breeds Confidence which breeds Friendship

Re: routerI had a LINKSYS and it would not connect with this site (Farmallcub.com). nothing in the house would.I could not find any other site anywhere that it would not connect to. I thought I was black balled. W e had that router for years with out any trouble. I could access at work and on my wife's Droid. She bought another router, also a LINKSYS and all is good. I don't know why it targeted this site but it did. I'm starting to think she did something to block Farmallcub.com so I wouldn't spend so much time on here. either way I put up such a hissey fit we got a new router.
