New Cub Shopmate
The Cubs now have something else to share shop space with. When we were growing up in the '50's and early '60's around here, every country kid I knew had one or wanted one of these. Nice to putt along the country roads this time of year.

So it took you this long to get yours? I guess we will now see you toolin' down the road with Ralph and Camo! Looks good Denny, you gotta enjoy life while you can.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Denny,
How well I remember. I and the vast majority of my friends fell into the 'wanted one of these' category. Nice ride. Keep the shiny side up.

That is nice Denny. You could haul it on the trailer with the Cubs so they don't get lonely while they are out on the road traveling to Cub Fests Makes me want to get one of my CT 70s restored

I was in the same category, Bill. Most of my friends were country kids but not farm kids and they worked on farms. Some of them could afford to get one. I was a farm kid that worked on the farm for no pay. Couldn't afford one but got to ride those of friends. Once we got our drivers license it wasn't such a big deal anymore. Later on the motorcycle trend filled that void, but I never had that Cushman.

That's a good lookin Eagle, Denny. What is it, about a 58? I too was a farm kid, but when I got my drivers liscense, went to work in the garage and was able to buy a used Cushman. Mine was a leftover 57, titled as a 58.

It's a '59, Gary. Yeah, I hear ya. I remember just before I turned 16 I could have bought a '57 or '57 Eagle. Couldn't afford it.
and I was expecting a red headed girl
Well Boss, I could afford the redhead ; that was part of the problem.

Re: New Cub Shopmate
I had a "Husky" the square step-thru Cushman. It filled the years between bicycle and car.
One annoying thing I remember was the lights. They ran on a dynamo with no battery. The Cushman centrifugal clutch dropped the RPM slowing for cruves and down hill. This dimmed the lights just when you needed them.
Made for exciting rides home in the dusk after a late day hauling hay.
