cubcadet 104

Postby 48 cub » Mon Jul 25, 2011 6:02 pm

I just bought a cubcadet 104. The guy repainted it but left the engine the way it was. It runs good but the bearings in the deck are going bad. The transmission and breaks are good and the stearing has average play in it. It has good tires and chains. The one thing that I found most interesting is that it has a factory cigarette lighter. I have been told that this is not that rare but I have never seen one before. If I knew how to put pics on I would, I have tried multiple times with no success.

I parted out a 105 with cigarette lighter. Cigarette lighters' are listed in the operator's manual. But dash photos in the operator's manual does not show the cigarette lighter.
I have an excuse. CRS.

Yea, I've had a couple of 124s and a 105 that had cigarette lighters. One of them actually worked, but the wires were not hooked up on the others. There was a hole in the dash of the Cadets all the way through the mid 1970s for a lighter.

The correct lighter is what's rare. I don't know if they made more than one style so it's haard to say what is the one that the CORRECT POLICE approve.

All my int154's have lighters.

My cc 104 is one of my favorites in the narrow frame series cadets. Mine was parked after a few years of use when the gas went bad. After cleaning her up and getting her fired up again i got a brand new tractor. Its funny how people just give up on these machines.
I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Here is a picture of Ray's (48cub) 104. Overall it is a good tractor and is hte best looking of the three Cub Cadets that we own currently. It even has the best seat lol.

Cigarette Lighters on ANY equipment is beginning to be sort of rare now! I guess when you are a smoker, you just can't go an hour without lighting up or just can't use your regular lighter in the wind while the tractor is moving...

I am an ex-smoker, so I guess I can relate!!
