140 Fast Hitch one-point

Postby Bus Driver » Thu Jun 16, 2011 8:13 am

I need the "spike" insert for a new implement I want to build. Found one on eBay. Pricey! Local fellow tells me that he has made some of these from mild steel and they were not durable. He believes that the genuine article from IH was an alloy steel. He suggest that I get the real thing and pay the price.

Bus Driver - check out Agri-Supply - I believe they have them at a reasonable price.

Since you are in NC, if you are close Leinbach's in East Bend has them. (At least they did when I last looked)

I can't belive someone wore out a FH point. I have 3 different IH points, a Cole point and a Leinbach point, and a machine shop one, and one made with a torch. All work well and and have for over 45 years. If it was bent, a Cub didn't do it!

Need Some Help, I'm in Kannapolis, NC. If I needed a point I would get one from Leinbach, Agri-Supply, or my favorite welder has a couple of torch made ones. BTW, none of mine are for sale. What business are you close to?

This may sound dumb, but didn't IH use a 3 point by the time they made 140's? did they ever use a 3 point?

Not on a cub, SA 100 130 or 140, they were made for cultivating and do a fair job with the fast hitch on plowing and such, but a 3 point hitch is not much good on them. as I have never seen a good 3 point hitch for them , no good way to stabilize them, if you need a 3 point hitch get a ford
JMO

They did make the 3 point on there other tractors
