I have a 185 and I cannot remember how the hardware holds the PTO Clutch Pack & Shaft on the tractor. Does anyone have a diagram to show me how to mount this?
Also looking for Shims in the PTO Clutches. Possibly 4-5 Total?
The gentleman that is repairing says the shims are out of tolerance, if I could find one that is 51thousandths that the clutches would be in tolerance, or I would need 4 or 5 originals, not sure what is in there. Or Shim Stock with 1 3/8 center diameter he said he could make it.
Also if anyone has a diagram of the clutches.

Re: PTO Clutch Pack Diagram?
Click on the Manuals tab above, then go to "Number Series Cubs", then to "Cub 154 LoBoy", then to "TC-131 Parts Catalog", and look at Page 11.
(The PTO for a 185 is the same as for a 154; the parts catalog is only listed under the 154 tab). The shaft is mounted on two bearings, one near the front where the belts are and the other between the clutch pack and the mower pulley.
Hope this helps.

Re: PTO Clutch Pack Diagram?
Try Hamilton Bob for shims!---all IH will sell is the complete pack at $260.00, and you will also nee snaprings not included in the parts pack.---went thru mine last year and still fighting it to get the adjustment right so it will work,---its either too tight or too loose, cant get the right combo in there.---right now the belts are slipping, when I get them tight the clutch slips,--- so there is no middle ground!!! I gave up on it this spring and use the Dixon bagger!---much better mower, less problems and faster mower! thanks; sonny

Try here for photos:

Shim washers are also available from McMaster Carr. Do not use brass shim stock. If you need photos of the clutch position and mounts on the tractor then I can posts some photos.

Re: PTO Clutch Pack Diagram?
Sonny,
If you are having a problem adjusting your PTO, chances are the plates between your friction plates are warped. Check to see they are perfectly flat when you lay each on a PTO flywheel. Make sure to turn over and check both sides. If they are warped from getting too hot, you not be able to adjust the Pto so it is fully engaged then fully disengaged. It will adjust too loose or too tight. Adjust until you hit 85Lbs.
Good Luck
Bob
