Gee, procrastination DOES work...I am almost ready to sandblast my blade for my SA, and was wondering the same thing. Was everything painted red? Liket all the braces, etc? Any other colors on it? Thanks for the info.

All the way through production? If you would have asked me to swear on a stack of bibles, I would have sworn that I saw what looked like original blue paint amongst the rust flakes on a 60 grader blade that we disassembled at the cheesy fest. Must have been a repaint at one point, but the patina of the blade sure said original.

I thought the pigment shortage problems were resolved before the A-60 blade came out. If not, some of the very early blades could have been blue. In any case, the original question I was responding to was Dale's question about miscellaneous parts of a red blade. Whatever color a blade was, it was entirely one color.

Thanks, Jim... The blade itself was definitely red on the blade from the Cheesy Fest, but the arms had a blue tinge to them... But there was such a small amount of paint that I could have misjudged...

Just checked the replies, thanks guy's for all the input. Ijust finished my super A...boy does it look good. The blade needs a brace or two removed, then I'll just put solid square stock inplace of the original tube. I'll try to put it back to the original shape. Then I'll blast it and paint it 2150 red. Is there a place I can get the decals for the blade?

Jim,

Did IH ever use any type of primer on the implements unlike how they painted the tractors?
