Sharing Mickey's House with the Cub Cadet Guys:
Donated the CC1450 to the school I work at for mantinence of the Base-Soft ball field, spraying and snow removal. I got it running yesterday....at start up alot of stuff flew out of the sheet metal. Fig' ger I better check for Mickey's house......Good Thing I did!
I will put her back together. Still need to change the Trans oil, filter and the hose at bottom of tranny.

Yep, seen that more than a few times. Better check the coil wires and stater (if it has one). They LOVE to chew the insulation off of those staters. Not sure why, but I've replaced a bunch of them.

Rudi,
Yep. That is exactly what I'm talking about. At least I'm not alone in my mechanical misery.

Tom, Bill:
So far I have been lucky - my 129 and my Craftsman have not been molested like this, but the little CoOp wasn't so lucky. The CoOp was donated to a young teen who wanted to learn... so at least some good will come of that. Amazing the damage a couple mice can do....

Ahhhhh,
The sweet smell of Mickey's house. Better this smell then the smell of a burning cub!

Red,
You been there........Done That...... I think burnt cub cadet would smell better. How long does the smell last and what to use to get it gone?

The mice chewed up the wiring on my previous suburban. Cost almost $500 to get it fixed. Luckily my insurance covered it.
DECON is in my basement and shed all year round.

Re: Mickey's House
Froghunter,
Yeah, I've cleaned my share of mice homes from the sheet metal. The smell goes away pretty quick after removal and some run time. I've never had one catch on fire, but have seen em toasty. I had a chance to buy a 682 that caught fire, melted the gas tank, dash, wiring........ Passed on it.
If I leave the tractors set for the winter, I also check em in the spring before firing them up. Cub Cadet actually recommended removing the sheet metal to clean dirt and debris from the fins to aid in cooling and prevent fires......
