IH 140 Value

Postby Jason (IL) » Sun May 22, 2011 10:05 pm

I really don't know much about 140's but this one has been sitting in the neighbors shed for years and the son has now decided to sell it. It is all complete?? The motor is stuck and the loader is held up with a toe strap. That is all I know, I was just told it is sitting outside and go look at it when ever. So I looked it over and took a few pics.

What would be a fair offer for this.

The loader itself is probably worth $1500. 140's seem to be very popular tractors even in a stuck condition. I think it could be worth as much as $2300 - $2500 even if you parted the tractor out. Might even bring more than that if you find someone interested in 140's

I will make a call this evening and see what the guy is asking for it. My uncle is the one that led me to it and he thinks I could get it for close to nothing but I haven't talked to the owner yet about it but I do know what the cultivators are for now that I bought at his dads first auction 10 years ago. I though they fit a cub but they a little big.

Thanks for the advice. So here said I prolly need a bigger tractor and I hope to maybe have one shortly.

I went to the auction yesterday and bid on the 140. I am trying to save money but I could let it go for less the 2000. I bid to 1800 and let it go for 1900. It was me and 1 other bidder is all that were interested. I talked to the man who bought it and he collected all the ?40 series. said he has them all 140, 240, 340, rare 440 or 540. Anyway he just wanted the loader.

I didn't really want it but the loader made it more appealing to have but since I already have a loader cub I wasn't to excited about it.
