1950 Farmall HKind of made an impulse buy the other day. It needs to be cleaned up; needs new front tires, and a carb rebuild, but everything works and is mostly original.

Re: 1950 Farmall HMan, that's a nice looking H. I do like your choice of impulse buys.

Re: 1950 Farmall HI think the H is my favorite "looking" tractor of all the larger Farmalls. It is kind of the epitome of tractors to me... I think you bought well!!

Re: 1950 Farmall HThanks guys for the kind words.
The funny thing is that I had been looking at green tractors and kept running across red ones that were better deals. This one cost me $1700 including delivery of 100 miles one way. The first tractor I ever drove, of course, was our '48 cub, but the second tractor I ever drove was a neighbor's H. He put me on it to rake hay and I had a blast. It was always in the back of my mind to recapture that feeling from almost 45 years ago. And it really is dirty; the horizontal surfaces just don't show in the pics. Plus I've got to make those tires look black.
Re: 1950 Farmall HDecided to remove the hood to see what I could see.
![]() ![]() I didn't really like the way the manifold and exhaust pipe looked, so I went to Wally World and bought a Krylon rattle can of BBQ & Grill paint. ![]() Looks better, I think.
