I could certainly be wrong, but that looks to me like a Peregrine Falcon. A very rare bird.

I had mine outside around the back of the house.Went inside for a min and wham!!!!.A female Red Tailed got one of mine.So much for free ranging.I knew this would happen if I wasn't around them RATS!!!! Kevin nice coop!!!

We have the red tailed around here. 5-6 years ago we rarely saw one, now they need thinned. Not sure if they're protected but don't really care when they try for my chickens. Beautiful bird though. Grump

Are they still protected when thy are dumb enough to fly into a picture window? Or into a double entry under construction when the sofit is still under construction? Or dumb enough to fly into and get caught in the garden fence? Maybe that is improving the Gene Pool of those remaining. i like to see them around to keep the rodents under control. Kind of disappointing to watch so many commit suicide though
