New guy from Idaho

Postby idahoguy » Fri Jan 07, 2011 9:11 pm

Hi All,
While living in western Washington, I collected several old tractors including a 1949 Cub. After retiring from working for the Navy as a civilian, my wife and I moved back to my home state of Idaho, bringing all the old tractors back, too. One at a time. Took several trips (6) to get them all here.
We live on 10 acres close to the Snake river near the town of Blackfoot. Just completing building a new house which takes much of my time doing the finish work. I work 4 days on the house and 2 days on the tractors!
Obviously, I love old tractors and getting them to run again. I haven't completely restored any of them, but they all run and will be restored in the future. In addition to the Cub, I have a 1940 Ford 9N, 1948 Ford 8N, 1953 Oliver 77 row crop, 1954 Farmall 400, and a 1958 Oliver 880.
Already I have had one problem with the Cub solved by the fine folks on this forum. I hope there will be some Cubfests here in the west so I can meet others folks interested in these fine little Farmalls.

1953 Oliver 77RC

1958 Oliver 880 Diesel

Welcome to the forum! You have some of my favorite tractors in your collection. Your 10 acres in Idaho sound fantastic! What a way to retire! I hope you enjoy the forum and let us know if we can be of assistance.

Welcome to the forum. I'm glad your first experience here was a positive one. You find that any help you need for your Cub is available on this site. Somebody will have the answer you need.

There aren't any Cubfests in your area but if you check the member map you may find some one close enough to you for a minifest.

Stick around. You'll be glad you did.
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.
