Remanufactured ink cartridge
Just wondering if anyone has tried remanufactured ink cartridges, I'm thinking about trying them as they are a lot cheaper than original. Your input will be appreciated.

Re: Remanufactured ink cartridge
We have a local company that refills printer cartridges. I've used them for years and never had a problem. Although I've never counted pages printed, they claim that they refill with the same amount of ink as OEM. Each used cartridge is inspected and any that are not suitable are not refilled.

Re: Remanufactured ink cartridge
We have several inkjet printers at work. Exclusively HP. We tried some remfg cartridges from Office Max. The vast majority of the printers will not even recognize that the OfficeMax cart. Is even loaded. Will not work at ALL. Throw an HP cart in same printer and away it goes working merrily along. ??????!!!!!

Re: Remanufactured ink cartridge
I used one once in an HP printer and it messed the printer up and now the printer won't work at all. I use nothing but genuine cartridges anymore

Re: Remanufactured ink cartridge
I think a lot of it depends on the remanufacturer, and the printer model of the printer. . I had one that they worked good in, and I had one that was an office type that printed faster than normal and they would not feed ink fast enough for it. Look on Ebay, I get mine there. when the printer gets a couple years old you can normally get some good prices there, but you need to make sure they are still in original boxes. If they are in bags they are the starter kits that come with the printers, and only have a little ink in them.
If you are not part of the solution,
you are part of the problem!!!

Re: Remanufactured ink cartridge
We just switched to one of the new Kodak printers. A large black ink cartridge is only about $10. Have not bought a color one yet, but the selling point for us was the much less expensive refill ink cartridges.
It was almost as cheap to get the new printer as to buy a full set of the HP ink. And the printer does as good or better job with our printing.

In our area Costco refills ink cartridges in the store and it usually takes about an hour. The cost is between $8 and $10 depending on whether it is black or color ink. I've had good luck with this and it is a lot better than off brand ink.
