My wife bought me a new trail camera, my first, the other day and I had to try it out. First picture is of a small doe, but the second one was some type of hairy faced beast!! I should have a lot of fun with this camera in years to come.

Re: Scary Trail Camera Picture!!
I'm going to be nice here, i'm trying to win my way into heaven now after being a butt head for many years. You don't want to run into a real bigfoot or hear the howls from it i'm sure you don't.
Ok what kind of trail camera is it and how much was it??? I'm interested in getting a few setup if there affordable. I have deer here almost every nite at my moltrie feeder and i'd like to get pics to see what the larger ones are " bucks or does" in the dark its hard to see antlers.

Skunk ape
Seems to be a great camera, I also would like to know how much it was.
And don't hesitate to post pictures of those northern monsters that us Florida boys see in our dreams.

Re: Scary Trail Camera Picture!!
I bought the moltrie I60 a couple years ago. Takes great pics and the batteries last longer than I expected. (6 D-cells) It has the infra red also. (better I think) I've used one with the flash before and didn't seem to bother the game. I also set mine up near the house when I'm gone, so the infra red won't be noticed by people. I also have 3 video cameras set up with a recorder but they don't cover everything. I paid $275.00 for it. I think they are $320.00 now. The strap that goes around the tree really needs to be longer unless you have a lot of small trees. The only thing I don't like about it was the sd card goes between the batteries and the case and is really a bear to get out. They have resolved that problem but make sure you can get to the card without a pair of needle nose pliers!!!

Re: Scary Trail Camera Picture!!
The Wildgame Innovations camera that the wife got me is also Infrared. I had told her that I didn't want a regular flash trail camera. My thinking is a trail cam can be set up pretty inconspicuously and therefore not as likely to be stolen by someone trespassing on your property. I share hunting privileges with another guy and he has a couple of trail cameras. On more than one occasion I have had my picture taken by his cameras but probably wouldn't have known it if it weren't for the flash. Without the flash, I'd have walked right past his cameras. Now if I was a trespasser and knew that I had just been busted, I would have an incentive to take "the evidence". Infrared eliminates the flash thing.

The've come a long way with building these little cameras in a short time. Their getting more reasonable to buy also, you can pick them up about anywhere now.
I love mine for checking fence crossings and such, and the newer style you have it seems the batteries last much longer.
