There used to be a feature of this forum that when a person receieved a pm, a notice was sent to that persons's email inbox that a pm was waiting at this web site. I sure do miss that feature, Is there anyway to put that feature back, or was it getting too expensive to use? Just wondering.

I believe you still have that option, you can change it in your board preferences , you find that when you go to your messages
cleck on Borg Preferences and you have the option

Just received 5or 6 in the last week, each time I had an email with the link to click on leading me to my message box here onthis site. Do you have the correct email in your profile?

Don't feel bad mine hasn't worked for some time now....I even deleted board cookies....I figure its their way of making us log onto the board more often.....actually I think it is IE explorer...I need to dump it in the trash...

Boss,

I'll go check those things, if I can find them. And see what is in there. Lil Red, I do have my correct email address in there. That is all I do know for sure.

Thanks for the reply.

Billy, this has been an ongoing problem for many of us since June. Even with the feature turned on in your profile it may not work for you. Check out this thread from last summer for more comments on this subject. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=43295
There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Went and checked. Got everything turned on. Guess that just living in the dark corner of East Texas has its problems. If this was the biggest of mine, I would be happy. Thanks for the feedback.

My computer is so old I converted it from wood burning to electricity. That might have something to do with it.

Some internet service providers block automatically generated e-mails such as those sent to notify you of a PM. You may need to contact your service provider and ask them to check to see if they have farmallcub.com on the blocked list for automatic e-mails.

Big Dog,

Didn't know that. But that is only a small sampling of what I don't know. I may just give them a call and see what happens. Thanks.

I had that problem (lots of problems with the site) till I switched my web browser from IE to Mozilla Firefox. Works seamlessly now.

Billy:

Email has nothing to do with browsers except where you wish to reply or send an email from a forum. Then when you click on the link Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, GMail or which ever email client you use should pop up so that you can send an email.

Where the problem arises is as BD indicated, more with your ISP or your own firewall settings. Check you firewall settings and make sure that www.farmallcub.com is in your white list. If that doesn't help, then contact your ISP and see if farmallcub is blocked. It is because of the bot type notification routine that the ISP may have blocked the url.

I have farmall on my OK list but still don't get notifications. I just look at the top of the opening page to see if I have any messages.
