I purchase a 154 plow from a guy on the site. Looks good but i need to fix a few things.
There is a bracket where the spring assy attaches. to the plow frame. It has been replaced but not a good job. also the brace that goes from there to the front were the pin goes through is cracked and needs to be fixed. Can some one please send me some photos of this area from a nice original plow.
Also there is a bolt that attaches the blade to the frame where the blade swivels. This hole is rounded out. Does a bushing go in that hole? And what does the original bolt look like.
One more, I am putitng this on my 67, so i dont want to paint it red (though i will) can i correctly paint it blue? I dont want to paint it yellow or white because its not a 154a it just a 154.

I think white or yellow would be "closer to correct" than blue. I doubt that either version of the 54 was ever blue from the factory. Some of the early non-numbered grader blades may have been blue. The 54A blades were red, yellow or white at different times and the late 54 is almost identical to a 54A.
If I am on track with which pivot point you are asking about, yes there is a bushing. It is part 650283R2 and still available. The bolt is 5/8 x 2 coarse.

Todd. If you are talking about the bolt that attaches to the rear of the blade at the bottom (where the blade tilts forward & back), I do not think there is a bushing at that location. But adding one would be an improvement. This bolt (p/n 650134R1) is called "Rod, Support Spring". It would be part ID #5 at this page: http://www.cleancomputes.com/Cub/Cub%20 ... e%2014.jpg
Hope this helps some.............

Todd:
I have been trying to find a Cub-54 Manual for almost 2 years now. Got close a couple of times, but no cigar yet.
Called Binder and even they do not have it. I asked for the 54 and they wanted to ship me the 54A, said it was the same. I told them it wasn't. They looked it up somewhere and said yup, it ain't and they don't know when or if they will have the 54 available or not.
Let me know if you find one puhleeease. Gord and I need one badly, and I think the server could use a copy.

Jim:
Why can't I find a 54 manual? I know the blade mounting is different from the 54A and it is different again from the McCormick Deering Grading and Leveling Blade. It sure would be useful to find a 54 manual.
I have looked through everything I have and I can't seem to find anything on the early 54 blade.
