I'm technically misunderstood at times i guess its been this way my whole life so why should it change now.

Hey Bigdog,

Was that "road gear" or was that a lower gear? What is the top speed on the F tractors?

Mike - that was road gear right out of the barn! Running at top speed. You should see it in low gear and at an idle.

Looks to be about the top speed of the Cub, doesn't it? Guess you won't be taking that one on any road cruises any time soon. The other comment I have when looking at this is to notice just how far the tractors had come ergonomically from the time of the F-series tractors and the time of the Cubs and larger tractors. That tractor looks like fun to drive down the road for a little while but MAN it looks like it would be HELL on the back during a long day at work!!

Mike - the manual says top speed in 3rd gear is 3 3/4 mph. Second gear top speed is 3 mph - not a lot different from 3rd.
As bad as the ergonomics look I'll bet those guys who followed a team of horses or mules across a field for years thought it was the cat's pajamas!

Mike,
As BigDog said it's all about perspective :D

I bought an old tractor all dusty and worn,
knew nothing about her just the year she was born
I washed her and greased her and painted her red
Now she lives happily right here in my shed.

Besides, the way that thing shakes and shimmies at full throttle, your back will go numb before the pain sets in... or at least your hands will from the metal steering wheel.

What do you mean "shakes and shimmies?" She's smooth as silk running wide open!

I loved how the "applause" sign magically appears after BD fires it up.

Hey BD, were did you get that good looking F-14? It really looks and sounds good. What did you have to do to get it running?

My Dad farmed with horses until he bought an F-12. I got a lot of seat time on the F-12 helping him on the farm. Once he got his first Cockshutt, we all wanted to use it instead of the F-12, but the younger brother always had to drive the F-14. Good memories.

We are having fun with the Jeep.

Roger - I replaced the brushes in the mag and cleaned and set the points. She fired right off! How's the Jeep coming?
