Plane Crash At Our High School

Postby Barnyard » Fri Aug 21, 2009 9:03 pm

Just before dark the fire department across the road was dispatched. Naturally we expected it to be another minor call as they normally are. Unfortunately we found out just moments later that a small, private plane had taken off from our local airport that is located next to the high school and crashed behind the school gymnasium. Many of you have gone past the school on your way to the Bash so you know it is close to our place.

The high school football team was having scrimmage at the time. Reports so far are that the two people on board have died. No one on the field was hurt.

The church at our intersection had a large screen TV set up and the congregation was gathered to watch an outdoor movie with their kids. Rosanne and I walked over and met with the Pastor to let him know in case he wanted to make a small announcement after the movie. He said he would make sure he gathered the membership to say a prayer after the show.

Rosie and I will too.

There are two ways to get enough Cubs. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.

Wow! That's awful close to home! It's good that none of the kids were involved in the accident. Light plane crashes seldom end well. Our prayers for those involved.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

Too close - too close. I'm glad no one on the ground was injured. Our prayers for the victims.
