Hey all, I received another email from Gordon on Rudi.
"Hi John,
Thanks for your e-mail. I just got back from Maine, and Rudi left me a message he was on his way to St John.
John, I phoned Rudi and talked to Emily also this morning. The Doctor says there are multiple blockages from 75 to 100%, and Rudi will require multiple bypass surgery. Rudi is on his way to see the surgeon, and is finding it difficult to keep a stiff upper lip! It is good that Emily is able to be with him.
I will let you know how this will turn out.My plan is to visit Rudi later this week.
Regards,Gordon"
Maybe Bruce can shed some more light later tonight.

Well Guys
I just got off the phone with Rudi.He has seen two heart speialists so far.One said no the other said yes.He will see one more tomorrow,if his opinion is no.Then they will not operate at this time. But they will send him home and treat him with drugs. They cannot use stints because so many arteries a blocked off,and that is the reason they do not want to operate.Too dangerous. Two of the main arteries are blocked 100%.
Four others are blocked 90%.Some others are blocked from 20 to80%.
He is disappointed but upbeat. He also said he misses the Forum.
Also he appreciates your concerns, cards, (quote) I plan on being around for a long time. Well that is all I can tell you for now,I will call him again tomorrow night.

Wouldn't he be a candidate for surgery? I can't believe a doctor told him no. Seems obvious to me he needs relief. In this country at least, it's a high percentage deal these days. I hope he's getting the best doctors in his area.

Don't forget we have Socialized Medicine in Canada. There is a price on everything. If the doctors don't do the most needy ones, they have a better success rate.
The other aspect is that the DRs may honestly feel his heart is so blocked that he can not tolorate the surgery.
I certainly don't know the answers, much less all the questions but I can hope and pray for Rudi and his recovery.

Hi everybody!
I just finished talking to Rudi. He is really upbeat tonight.Another cardiologist checked him today, and informed Rudi it should be possible to operate. Which satisified Rudi very much. So they will be doing more of
their tests again tomorrow. To give them more infomation on any other
conditions. Rudi said he will know something definate tomorrow. He sounded very good, and with a positive attitude. That is all I can tell you for now. Thanks for the prayers.

Well guys
I talked to Rudi again tonight. He had done some tests today. He thinks they will be operating Tues or Wed. We talked a little about Cubs of cource. He is very upbeat but is complaining about hospital food, like most of us would.I will call him again the first of the week.
