farmall 140 touch control repair

Postby cubbrian » Fri Jan 30, 2009 8:55 pm

I need to fix a leaky touch control unit on my 1966 140. My question is this: should I do a complete rebuild or just repair the defective part? My preference would be a total rebuild, however the parts guy at one of the local IH dealerships recommended to only repair what is bad. It looks like CaseIH no longer sells a repair kit, each parts has to be ordered seperately.

Hi Brian

If it is the same as a 130 which I think it would. I just got a rebuild kit last month. It cost me $110 I think. If you want I can get the part number for you.

Billy,
Did you do the rebuild yet?
How did it go?
Any tips, or pics?

I'll try to take pics when I do mine.

HI Ed

I still do not have the cub put together yet. Its sitting in front of the garage with the front end apart yet. Been too cold out side to work on it much. One of these years I will get a pole barn up that I can work in. My little garage is so full of stuff I can barely walk across it.

Anyways the part # for the gasket kit I got for the 130 is 354007R96 it is a CNH part from my IH dealer.

Best wishes getting your 130 up and running. I was hoping to see pictures of it pushing snow :!: :!: :!:
