safe then sorry

I feel stupid asking this question but on a farmall M is the oil fill tube the long tube that runs up on the left hand side? The reaons I ask is because it looks so far away from the oil pan. I have looked in my owners manual and it does not show it. It just shows you how to check oil level. This long tube is so far back on the motor it almost looks like it might be a tranny fill but I am guessing that would probbalby just be a bolt hole.

On the right front corner of the engine block there is what looks like a big wing nut. It sits flat on the casting. Remove it by unscrewing it (ccw).

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
