Ended up with three toys

Postby 1cubmaster » Thu Sep 04, 2008 10:59 pm

Went to look at a 1940 IH42r combine today.the guy said he wanted $100 for it!! I was thinking it would be a pile of rusted scrap.Went and looked anyway.WOWW it still has the Mcormick stencles in the wood, one of the beater boards was broke and it needs new canvas.Still has the original 68 year old paint with very little rust anywhere! With original owners manual and a scourkleen attachment, with manual. Its the bin type. It turns over by hand, cant wait to get it home and play!He used it two years ago and showed me dated pics of it behind a farmall C,we then started talking about the C and I got that for $600 with cultivaters and a belt pulley!! Then I noticed a Ih46 baler under a tarp,he said I could have that for $50 as that is what he paid at a auction for it 2 years ago and never touched it (its a DEMO) white paint under red. Will have PICS this weekend! Says he has another barn full of (stuff) to look thru on Sat. I probably wont be able to sleep tonite! Like a kid at Christmas time!!! 8) :D :D :D The best $750 Ive ever spent,so excited I never looked at ser#'s. Mike :D
