Fairbanks Morse magneto

Postby John *.?-!.* cub owner » Sun Aug 08, 2004 7:32 pm

Splicer (Rick Lehmann) the gentleman that provided my transportatin to Cubarama last year sent me the following inquiry about an FM magneto. If anyone can help him I would appreciate it.

I've got a magneto (FM X1B7E) that won't fire. It's off a Wisconsin engine (model AENL). I took it apart and I don't know how to remove the center shaft. Don't really want to remove it, but it's pretty dirty and has to come off.
Where can a guy find the disassembly/testing/installing procedeures for this rascal.......been looking high and low and cannot find it on the net, and really didn't want to buy a manual for this one project. I'm probably just not typing the correct phrase to get me where I need to go..

his email is splicer@fidnet

Thanks Carl, he got it fixed last week. He said that once he figured out how to get it apart all it needed was cleaning and points.
