No joy...

Postby allenlook » Sat Aug 21, 2004 9:55 am

Nope, no Solvo-Rust yet... Going to a tool show today, and I'm going to pick up a couple "farm jacks" (those I-beam thingys)...

Of course, worse come to worst, I don't REALLY need to get them apart, I am happy with where they're located, but it's a "while you're in there" kind of thing, you know?

I figure after I get them apart, maybe I can coat them with some NEV-A-SEIZE and it won't happen again for another 50 years.

JB and Allen:

I have searched the Loctite Web Page, and have come up with nothing. Sooo, I sent them an email requesting info on the product which is sitting right in front of my as I type this post.....

Hopefully in the next couple of days I should get an answer. I asked for outlets for this product in the US and the rest of Canada.

I don't think that the product is only sold in Moncton  :? , so it should be available at some chain or maybe at parts houses that stock LocTite products.

Anyways here is the product code: 81252
Loctite
Solvo-Rust
Super Penetrating Oil
Penetrant/Rust Inhibitor.

The two hardest things to do on a cub restoration is the adj. axles and the crank pully.......take your time and don't give up

2 Late!

Postby allenlook » Mon Aug 23, 2004 7:06 am

Too late - I gave up! :D  :D

With the front bolster coming in a few days, I need to get all the other parts back together and painted and ready, so I settled for "good enough" and left the front axles where they are.

I got the old tires off and am putting on the trailer tires per John's suggestions. The rear turfs are here, and a bunch more parts (gaskets and what not) should be arriving soon.

Getting imperceptibly closer...
