Bolt size

Postby Ron » Wed Aug 04, 2004 12:29 pm

Hi All,

Does anyone know what size bolt will fit the hole on the end of the crankshaft? (front)
It looks to be a 9/16 or 5/8.

Thanks,

Ron

I believe that's a 1/2" - NC

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

1/2" is correct. Get one at least 5 inches long. It's a deep hole!

Thanks to all who responded!!

After I finally got the fan pulley off, I discovered that the threads in my crank
have been gone for some time.
It appears that they were pulled out.

I was able to tap the deeper, smaller hole to a 7/16 x 14 so I would at least have something.
I believe I would have to go up to at least a 5/8 size to re-thread the outer part of the crank.

Thanks again!!

Ron
