I am looking for a tail mower for my 1948 cub does anyone know what the rpms were for the pto on it?

The cub pto is non-standard. It is slightly smaller than standard, runs in the opposite direction and runs at engine speed.

I think Woods, Mott Flail, and Bush Hog all made one, but they were made specifically for a cub and are rare. Belly mount mowers are fairly common if you don't particularly need a rear mount mower. Another thing to think about are the Trail Mowers sold by several companies. They have their own engine and simply pull behind the tow unit.

Cub Mowers
A buddy of mine has what we believe to be an I-H C-2 mower set up for rear mount on the fast hitch, and coupling to the pto. Similar at least to the picture in the C-2 manual. I'm sure he would sell it since he doesn't have a cub to put it on.
