Front Wheel Weights

Postby S.H.A.F.T. » Mon Apr 19, 2004 9:56 pm

Start looking in your local farming paper in the classified ads. As an added bonus, old Cub Cadet rear weights are identical to the front wheel weights for the Farmall Cub. Good hunting.

HEY

Please tell me how much more side hill stability is achieved by adding front wheel weights.

Thanks.

Almost none, but rear weights do help. Since the front axle isn't rigidly connected, its' weight doesn't matter much. Side hill stability is understood by more people than really understand it.

The only thing front weights will do to help on side hill stability will be to give you more traction to help keep the front end from sliding sideways down the hill, but anyone on that steep a slope with a cub, is a strong candidate for a Darwin Award anyway. :D

If you add enough wheel weight to the front wheels you can enter your Cub in a Hill-Climbing contest.

You can count me out though cause I taught my Cub to be Skeered of travelin on hillsides.

As I see it you want rear wheel weights. Widening the rear wheel with. And keeping the engine (left) side to the up hill position will help.
Good luck
