222mower

Postby jim turner » Tue Apr 13, 2004 9:23 am

My friend bought a I-H 222 sickle bar mower thinking it was a Cub mower however it resembles one it isn't , so we are wondering if anyone knows what it might be for it is belly mount and a lot of the parts look the same as a 22 mower.

Jim, I'm not sure, but I imagine it will fit an A or Super A. Maybe even a 100 - 200 or similar series.
Jim Becker should be able to enlighten us.

Jim:

I just looked up all the mowers that are listed in the MR-5. Closest I could find would be the 200 series mowers and they are equipped with what appears to be a standard 540 PTO drive.

Does it have a similar setup?

The MR-5 also lists a 22 mower that is mounted on a 140... not sure if that helps either.

What length of cut does it have?

I can't even find it in the IH Hay and Forage Catalog. Can you post a pic, it might help. Oh, can you get a part number off it anywhere?

222 just isn't coming up in any of my catalog's

The 222 mower fits some, and probably all 3, of the numbered Lo-Boys.
