Hello All,
My story is a bit unique. When I was a kid, perhaps 4 or 5, my dad purchased some old riding tractor to use for cutting grass, etc. It wasn't the best choice, but it got the job done. In fact, my dad was such a wonderful person that he rigged up a special seat just for me to drive it because my legs weren't long enough to reach the pedals. Not too long afterwards, he decided to buy a Cub Cadet from a junkyard and fix it up. I was around 6 or so at that time. For me it was love at first sight! We had all kinds of accessories. Snow plow, wheel weights, mower, and trailer, etc. that he accumulated over the ensuing years. I lived on that tractor as I grew up and racked up what seems to be somewhere near 100,000 miles on it! (okay, maybe not THAT much!)

I grew up and moved away, but my dad kept the Cub and used it for basic chores. He even built a trailer that had two seats out of an old school bus mounted on it so he could pull his family, friends, and most importantly his grandsons on it when we came back to visit.

Anyway, my dad passed away in December of 2005 and my brothers agreed to let me have the tractor since it was such a big part of my life growing up. Not knowing what we had, we started to do some research and found that it was a '61 Original built in February. I don't have the serial number at my finger tips, but I'll post it later.

This tractor is priceless to me because it takes me back to so many happy times with my dad. When I take it out and ride it around my neighborhood, I feel so close to him.

Thank you all for creating this website and this forum. I look forward to checking this quite often in the future.

My username is the nickname I have for my tractor. :)

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
