Cub hour meter

Anyone have a picture of an early Cub hour meter? I have the Burmuda Ken's red red book it does have a pic but it too small and can't really see the meter

I bought 2 at Redpower. I thought one was a cub, it's the same bracket but appears it's bent different than the one in the picture. I'll run over to dad's and grab them and take some pics, they are both the same guage with different brackets. Be right back. Brandon.

Here are the pics, the guages are identical, evidentally the brackets are all that are different between different models. The one with the correct looking bracket for a cub, just needs the guage turned 45 degrees. They are tricky to read with all the dials, you have to look at it a second.

So the bottom picture reads 1843.5 hrs is that right? What is the little hand
or needle in the upper left (between the 8 and 9) for?

That would be my guess on the hours, don't know what the little arrow is for. Anyone have any idea's? Does anyone have anymore pics of the guages on a tractor? I'm 100% sure by looking at the pic in updikes book, that the bracket I have is the same as the cub, it just needs un-bent. In the picture on page 35 of his book the mounting holes appear to be oblong which these are also. I believe the hour meter is in one of the cub parts manuals on rudi's server, I'll look.

Brandon thanks for the pics and congrats on finding two hour meters I assume they are a hard to find option. I am surprised that they have a dials was expecting a rolling number set up like an odometer.


1843 hours is what I understand the lower meter to read, the small need on the upper left could be an indicater as in on its turning off its not

I believe the small needle in the upper left is just to indicate that the guage is working.

The other needles move so slow it wouldn't be obvious for sveral days without a faster moving needle.

I know this is an old post, but I think the small needle is for seconds. I hooked up a meter that came with my cub and it ticked once every second.

Now that hour meters are being discussed, what is considered to be a lot of hours on a low rpm gas engine like a cub? Thanks

I have the IH hobbs meter install guide that gives the exact measurements of where to drill the holes on your Cub if you need it. No use making hole you don't want.
