I take it that when you go to start the engine, it is turning the wrong direction If that's the case, sounds like the wiring could be backwards. Do some search's in the Forum as some of these starters/generators turn CW or CCW. Depends on the model/year of production. It may be turning the correct way after all.running in reverse direction

Reversed S/G
Probably has a s/g from a Cub Cadet. They turn the wrong way for a 154.

Ditto: Seems to be a lot of posts similar to this area lately. These type of problems seem to start cropping up around the time of tractor shows and tractor gatherings. You think that someone is "Sabotaging" folks tractors so they can sell them parts at all the shows
