Trying to find DC/1/4

Postby fire escape » Tue May 01, 2007 2:48 pm

1950 super A
I am trying to time the magneto. The manual wants me to crank after tdc and line up the DC1/4 mark on the flywheel is lined up with the ponter on the cluch housing cover. I can't find the dc1/4 mark.
The super A is finished on the outside, but not much good if she doesn't run. Any sugestions?

The mark is an arrow on the flywheel. It is very hard to see. If you think of the flywheel as a bowl, it is on the outside, the part the ring gear is pressed onto. It points to the hump in the center of the cover on the front of the bell housing. You will have to look up through the hand hole while someone turns it over real slow and use a bright light. It helps to chalk it when you find it.
