Anything but green!

Postby ExCheff » Wed Apr 18, 2007 11:00 am

I stumbled on this site when I bought my '52 Cub a couple of years ago. I can't count the number of times surfing the forum has kept me out of trouble when working on SuzyQ, the '52. I am aPolice Chief by trade, so my aspirations of having multiple red critters (or orange, anything but green) is on the slow track. New Melle, Missouri is a bit north of Saint Louis. I went to the Cub-a-Rama last year and was very impressed by the wide variety. I am looking forward to this September's gathering, and may even trailer the old girl out! So far I have performed the 12 volt conversion with the Hitachi alternator, which was a breeze thanks to the information found on this site. I am now working up the steam to take the tranny apart and abate an annoying grinding sound.

Thanks for all the info!

Aaron

I am the chief in a little town called New Melle, MO. We are in St. Charles County near Wentzville off of I-70. I have googled the New Melle PD name, and apparently some people think we are a speed trap! I would rather be a speed trap than a meth or rape capitol. I have been to Potosi, at least to the prison. I used to do prisoner transport for the Warren County sheriff's office. Looks like Cubs are alive and well in MO!

I used to work in Wentzville about 10 years ago), and frequently went through New Melle on my way to and from Potosi. I was through it about 3 months ago, and it sure has changed.

Aaron,

Years back my brother-in-law rented a farm in New Melle. I remember hauling gain to the gain elevator in town; I think the name is Blair’s. The trucks would get tied up in line at the elevator so , I would run a load with the tractor pulling a trailer. The tractor with the duals on it would cover half the on coming lane on Hwy Z, but what was funny I wouldn’t even have to pull over for a car on a Saturday or Sunday run. I bet I would have traffic backed up for miles now if I did that.

Speed trap in New Melle, in my opinion you’re just making people obey the law, but when I see a Ford Crown Vic in your area I look at my speedometer….so you have me trained!!!!! :P

New Melle is a town where the overflow form St. Louis and St. Charles counties has caused a huge increase in population . The roads in the area are narrow and crooked with lots of children living along them. The speed laws in the area of not just New Melle, but all of the surrounding area needs to be strictly enforced for the safety of people, and especially the children living in the area.
