What cultivators fit a Farmall M

My dad picked up a Farmall M last weekend and after dad bought the tractor the guy mentioned that he had some cultivatrors so of course we had to ask where and went and looked at them. As far as I know they are original but do have a couple of the arms cut off (rear section) We ended up with both sides and cylinders and the rear section cultivators.

This tractor also has the M & W 9 speed tranny and the M & W hand clutch. Two nice bonuses. The PO also installed a Super M engine. Dad's intent is to try and go to some tractor pulls next year.

The only downside is that the right side has a bad bearing that we need to fix before we do much of anything.

My question is what models were made to fit the M and does anyone have pics. I would like to get my dad the manuals since his birthday is around the corner.

I don't think I would be pulling with an M&W clutch. You can't find disks for them any more.

There were probably a half dozen or more cultivators made for the M. Show us some pictures and we might be able to identify it.

Thanks for the reply, what makes you think that it is an HM-238?

Just curious if there was some tell tail give away.

Thanks again Dave

Non-steering.
Separate front sections that bolt to sides of tractor.
Long lift rods controlled by cylinders.
No quick attach mounting frames.
Square (rectangular) tool bars.

Thanks for bringing this up Dave, cause i have a bunch of questions about a set for an H too...

Jim, what would a set just like these but not seperate front pieces be :?: (i think that's what i'm getting, haven't had a good look at them yet)

Thanks

Johnny

Johnny,
Depends on just how the front is different. The shifting gang (steering) cultivator made the same tiome as the 238 was the 221.

Dave,
I don't have any pictures of a 236, but it is probably very similar to the 238 except for round tool bars.

Nice Super M !! I would like to get a set of cultivators for my H but have two sets for my cubs.Don't have a big enough garden yet for the H.Notice the word YET!!!Need to get a new job[out of work now]and get a couple of tractors painted before the H gets any new toys.KETCHAM

Dad got these for a 100 claims we usually see them for around 2-300 that is why we jumped on them and didn't look back until we got home. We thought that this was going to be a great deal until we later realized that the rear tool bars had been cut at the angle and one or two of the front bars were cut as well. All in all i thought that he did a heck of a job considering that I paid $125 for a somewhat complete set of front and rears minus the lifting arms and a couple of broken ears. I mainly bought them for spare parts.
